Fifth anniversary of APS carnage observed

The fifth anniversary of Army Public School tragedy was observed today (Monday), with the pledge that nefarious design of the enemies will never be allowed to succeed.

On this day in 2014, more than 150 people, including 134 children and staff members lost their lives in a blatant act of terrorism in Army Public School Peshawar.   

A number of activities and functions are being held across the country today to remember the sacrifices of the innocent children.

The main function in connection with fifth anniversary of Army Public School tragedy was held in Peshawar on Monday.

Addressing the function, speakers paid rich tributes to the martyrs. 

President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan have reiterated the pledge to root out the menace of terrorism and extremism in all its manifestations from the country.

In their separate messages on the occasion of APS tragedy, they paid glowing tributes to martyrs of the Peshawar incident.

In his message, President Arif Alvi said the nation cannot forget the massacre of little children and teachers of APS.

In his message, Prime Minister Imran Khan affirmed that the militant mindset will not be allowed to take over the country.

The Prime Minister said the blood of the innocent children united the entire nation against all forms of extremism, terrorism, violence and hatred. 

He also lauded the sacrifices of armed forces, police and law enforcing agencies in the fight against terrorism.
