Defence Minister Pervez Khattak says government is trying its level best to appoint Chief Election Commissioner and other members of the Election Commission with consensus.

Addressing a public meeting in Peshawar, he said the Opposition is being taken on board in this regard in order to ensure transparency.

Pervez Khattak said the government is still in talks with the Opposition’s leadership to bring good and qualified people to the Election Commission.

He said the government and Prime Minister Imran Khan would complete their five years tenure and there is no sign of in-House change.
