Khmer Rouge leaders found guilty of Cambodia genocide
November 16, 2018

The UN backed tribunal has found guilty of genocide the two top leaders of Cambodia's Khmer Rouge regime.

Former Cambodian President Khieu Samphan and another senior leader Nuon Chea were acquitted of crimes against humanity and genocide against Muslims and Vietnamese.

Up to two million people are believed to have died under the brief but brutal Khmer Rouge regime between 1975 and 1979.
