US Secretary of State met with Saudi King in Riyadh today and discussed the issue of disappearance of Saudi journalist in Turkey.   US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has called on King Salman bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia in Ryadh today to discuss growing controversy over the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi. 

After the talks with King, Pompeo held a meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and agreed on the importance of a thorough, transparent, and timely investigation into Jamal Khashoggi's disappearance.

US State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said Secretary Pompeo reiterated President Donald Trump’s concern with respect to Jamal Khashoggi’s disappearance, as well as the President’s desire to determine what happened.

Pompeo is also scheduled to visit Turkey, where Mr. Khashoggi was last seen at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul two weeks ago.
