Sharp increase noted in third year of NA as it passes 60 laws

Legislative activity has seen a sharp increase in the third year of the current National Assembly as it has passed 60 laws.

According to Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency's review report, this is hundred percent increase as over 30 bills passed in the second year by the Assembly , whereas the first year had seen the passage of only 10 bills.

The report further said the National Assembly passed hundred bills during the first three years as compared to sixty nine total bills passed by the 14th National Assembly in its first three years.

Another positive development is the decrease in the number of ordinances laid by the Government in the Assembly during the third year.

Twenty ordinances were laid in the Assembly in the third year while twenty nine ordinances were laid by the previous government in the first three years of the previous National Assembly.
