The Food Department has so far distributed 785,427 gunny bags to farmers in all four districts of Faisalabad division for procurement of wheat at government fixed rates.

A spokesman of the food department said that 186,123 gunny bags were distributed in district Faisalabad, 137,123 bags in Toba Tek Singh, 402,557 in Jhang and 5,156 bags in Chiniot.

He said that the department has so far procured three hundred and fifty eight metric ton wheat against the total target of five hundred ninety two metric ton across the division.

He said that supply of government wheat quota to two hundred and twenty three flour mills has been suspended temporarily which would be restored after achieving the wheat procurement target.
