30 civilians killed by militants in Bangassou town, CAR
Spokesman for UN mission says situation is extremely deplorable.
In the Central African Republic, thirty civilians have been killed by militants in the border town of Bangassou.
The militants have also been targetting UN base in the area, prompting the deployment of extra troops to the remote town in anticipation of further attacks.
A spokesman for the UN mission said the situation is extremely deplorable and they are doing everything to rapidly retake control of Bangassou.
Meanwhile, U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres has expressed "outrage" over the attacks on the UN mission around Bangassou, in which six peacekeepers were killed.
