"Seven races scheduled in Lahore today"

The Gracianette Cup features the first day/night Lahore Summer Meeting when a ticklish card of seven races will take place at the Racecourse today. A class VII division II event to be gone over the sprinting distance of 1,000 metres in the main event will be contested by 11 runners while four of them look on chance to make it an open affair. In all, 73 horses will make the field for the day/night racing making the winner-picking a difficult task for the punters.

"Wapda, PAF, Navy win in National Volleyball"

Defending champions Wapda, PAF, Navy and Balochistan registered victories in their last group matches in the 49th National Volleyball Championship 2016, underway here at Liaqat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex. In the first match of the day, Wapda outclassed Punjab 3-0. In the second match, PAF routed AJK 25-14, 25-14 and 25-14. Navy thumped Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) Wah 25-14, 25-17, 25-18 in the third match. In the fourth and last match of the day, Balochistan defeated Sindh 3-1 with a score of 29-27, 25-23, 15-25, 25-21.

"Justin Gatlin on track with Shanghai 100m win"

US sprinter Justin Gatlin sailed to victory in the men's 100-metres at the Shanghai Diamond league, carrying him one step closer to an Olympic showdown with his great rival Usain Bolt. The 34-year-old veteran, who has been dogged by controversy for previously failing two dope tests, set his fastest time of the year in Shanghai, running 9.94sec, but falling short of Femi Ogunode's 9.91sec, the fastest time so far this year. "Wapda, SSGC qualify for 1000m sprint"

Wapda and SSGC qualified for the 1000 meters team sprint event of the PCF 62nd National Men’s (Senior/Junior) Cycling Championships. As many as nine affiliated teams of Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) have been taking part in the championship. The evening session was inaugurated by Col Syed Saddaf Akram of Pakistan Army Sports Board. 8-km road individual time trial (senior), SSGC clinched the first position while second went to SSGC and third to Wapda. 2-km road team trial (junior), Balochistan emerged as victories while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa claimed second spot and Punjab finished as third. 4-km road team time trial (senior), first position was clinched by SSGC while Army secured second and Wapda earned the third position.
