Shahbaz directs to cope with possible flood at advent of monsoon season
CM says weather satellite system of SPARCO and PAF should be fully utilized.
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has directed the concerned officials to make all necessary precautionary measures to cope with the possible flood at the advent of monsoon season.
He stated this while presiding over a video link meeting in Lahore on Monday.
The chief minister asked the cabinet committee for flood to keep a close liaison with the Meteorological Department and attain weather information on daily basis. He issued directive to the said committee top visit the banks of rivers and review the renovation and construction work.
He allowed the cabinet committee to use his helicopter for visits.
He said that the weather satellite system of SPARCO and PAF should be fully utilized.
He said that the Health Department should be very active during monsoon and keep an adequate quantity of medicines and snake biting curing drugs in case of any eventuality or calamity.
The chief minister directed the cabinet committee to immediately eliminate the encroachments along with the river and canal beds without any discrimination with the collaboration of the respective district administration.
