A meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore has reviewed the progress on various energy projects in the province.          

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said work is underway with fast pace on 900-MW solar project at the Quid-e-Azam Solar Park, Bahawalpur.        

He said the Punjab government plans to produce 1200 MW electricity through LNG.           

The Chief Minister said a project is being executed at Salt Range to generate 300 MW electricity from local coal.        

He said there is capacity of producing 800 to 1000 MW electricity with wind energy in the Punjab and four points have been chosen for setting up wind power plants.

Shahbaz Sharif said various energy projects would be completed by 2017 to overcome energy crisis.
