Arrangements have been finalized for the first Karawood International Film Festival in Pakistan.

One hundred and forty films have been received from Pakistan and other countries.          

Chief Executive Officer of the first Karawood film festival Batool Khan addressing a ceremony in Karachi today said that this festival will break the inertia of local film industry. She said promotion of cinema and film industry in Pakistan is her mission.          

The festival will begin on the fourth day of Eid-ul-Fitr in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. The best films in different categories will be given cash prizes of 5000 dollars, 3000 dollars and 2000 dollars. However, the best feature film will get a grand award.         

President of the first Karawood film festival Khalid Khan said this festival would help in further promoting the soft image of Pakistan in the world.
