JIT’s functioning after submitting final report matter of concern: Marriyum
Marriyum Aurangzeb says JIT should have formally sought more time from the Supreme Court, if needed.
Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has said the government will not accept any addition to the volume 10 of the report after Monday last, which was the cut off date for JIT to complete its task.
In a statement, she expressed serious concern over reports that JIT is still active, despite submitting its final report in the Supreme Court.
The Minister of State said that Supreme Court had allowed the JIT to close its office within 7 days, but instead of closure of office, all JIT members and their assisting staff are still working and none of the JIT members had reported back to their respective departments as yet.
She said the JIT should have formally sought more time from the Supreme Court if it could not complete its work.
