Former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh says his successor Narendra Modi misled the people by making “lofty promises” which he “failed” to fulfill.

Addressing a mega ‘Bharat Bachao’ rally  in New Delhi, he said Modi had promised to take the country’s economy to 5 trillion dollars by 2024, double farmers’ income and provide two crore new jobs every year for youths. He said now it has been proved that all these promises were false.

Addressing the rally, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi refused to apologize for his comments regarding rapes in India and said Narendra Modi and his assistant Amit Shah should apologize to the country for destroying India's economy.
