A three-day Urs of Great Saint of Subcontinent Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya Sohrawardy Multani RA started at Multan on Monday morning.

Caretaker of the mausoleum Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi performed the ablution of the mazar. He led the prayer, offered for the solidarity, prosperity and development of the country, unity, brotherhood and independence of Kashmir.

A large number of devotees are attending the celebrations. Comprehensive and strict arrangements have been made for the event.

Meanwhile, addressing the first session of Zakariya Conference, he said that several forces have involved in hatching conspiracies against Pakistan.

The Minister said that we pray for the solidarity and prosperity of the country keeping in view the problems being faced by Pakistan now a days. He said that teaching of sufis and spiritual leaders provide us the guidelines to overcome extremism and other social issues.

Addressing the conference, Punjab Minister for Auqaf Sahibzada Saeed ul Hassan said that the income of shrines will be spent carefully in future. He said that Auqaf department will be made bound to spend income on the improvement of shrines and to provide facilities to the visitors in a transparent manner.

Second session of Zakaiya conference will be held tomorrow.
