Pakistan strongly condemns merciless killings of Palestinians by occupant Israeli forces
May 16, 2018

Pakistan has strongly condemned the merciless killings and injuries to innocent unarmed Palestinian civilian protesters by the occupant Israeli forces.

In a statement, the Foreign Office Spokesperson said the protests are a consequence of the relocation of the United States Embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv in opposition to the position of the United Nations and international law.

He said Pakistan calls on the United Nations and the international community to investigate and bring to end the use of force, which has resulted in causalities of innocent Palestinian civilians.

On the other hand, Kuwait says it will propose a draft UN Security Council resolution on protection of Palestinian civilians following deadly violence along the Gaza border where Israeli troops killed more than sixty Palestinians.

The Security Council met after the bloodiest clashes for Palestinians since a 2014 Gaza war.

Kuwait's Ambassador to the United Nations, Mansour al-Otaibi told reporters before the meeting that he would likely circulate the draft resolution to the 15-member Security Council today.

Palestinian UN envoy Riyad Mansour told the Security Council that the Israeli occupation is the main source of violence in our region.

He pleaded with the Council to act immediately to stop the massacre committed against our people.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Human Rights Council will also hold a special session on Friday to discuss the deteriorating human rights situation in the Palestinian territories.

The special meeting is being convened on request of Palestine and the United Arab Emirates on behalf of the Arab Group of Council.
