FESCO to start talent hunt programme

The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company under the WAPDA endowment Fund for Sports has started talent hunt programme.

In an interview, FESCO Sports Officer, Muhammad Arshad said that in this connection the trials of players aged 12 to 16 years will be held at FESCO ground on Monday.

He said that male players interested in athletics, football, hockey, karate, squash, tennis, weightlifting, wrestling and female interested in athletics, hockey, karate and squash would participate in these trials to prove their abilities.

The Sports Officer said that during the initial trials male percipient have to complete the 800 meters race in three minutes or less time period while female have to complete 400 meters race in two minutes or less.

He said that at least 20 push up, 6 feet standing jump, 6 chin-up and completion of 44 meter gone drill in ten seconds or less.

Muhammad Arshad said that in the second phase successful candidates of initial stage would take sports specific test according to their choice and after this candidate who will fulfill the required criteria will be formally enrolled.

He said that Rs 7000 honorariam will be awarded to the selected candidates per month for their education and sports activities.
