SOLAR PARK:

Three hundred megawatt electricity has been added to the national grid after the completion of second phase of the Quaid-i-Azam Solar Park near Bahawalpur .

Talking to Radio Pakistan Bahawalpur Correspondent, Sajjad Pervez an official of the Solar Park said execution of third phase would be undertaken soon which will add six hundred Megawatt power to the grid.

He told Quaid-i-Azam Solar Park’s total capacity was planned to be one thousand Megawatt in 2014 and its first phase of one hundred Megawatt was completed and commissioned last year.       

He said the Punjab government acquired a total of ten thousand acre from the Cholistan Development Authority, Bahawalpur for the solar park.

                                                                   

TRANSPORT:

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is spending 18 billion rupees on Rapid Bus Transport project in Peshawar.

Official sources told Radio Pakistan Peshawar correspondent Falak Niaz that the project is a part of the Mass Transit System in provincial capital. 

It will start from Motorway Interchange Chamkani to Hayatabad with the financial assistance of Asian Development Bank.

In the first phase one hundred modern air conditioned buses will be purchased.

The buses would arrive in Peshawar within six months for which all modalities including fare, routes and passenger stops are being finalized.

 

WATER:

Balochistan government has allocated more than 3.95 billion rupees for provision of drinking water during financial year 2016-17.

Official sources of Public Health Engineering Department told Radio Pakistan Quetta representative that work is in full swing on Kachhi Water Supply scheme phase-II, construction of six storage dams in six different districts and installation of fifty water filtration plants in various area of the province.

Official sources further told that 500 water supply tube wells will also be converted into Solar System during this year which will cost about 2500 million rupees.

 

YOUSAF:

Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf  says Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are tied in an unbreakable bond of Islamic brotherhood and honoring guests of Allah from Pakistan will further strengthen this relations. 

Addressing a banquet given in his honor by Saudi dignitaries in Makkah, he lauded the Saudi Government, especially King Salman bin Abdul Aziz for making excellent arrangements on Hajj 2016.

The Minister said the government of Pakistan also made every possible effort on the directions of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to facilitate, help, and guide Pakistani pilgrims during their stay in Makkah and Madina. He appreciated Pakistan Hajj Mission in Saudi Arabia for taking care of Pakistani pilgrims in the kingdom.

Meanwhile, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf visited the headquarters of Hujjaj South Asia Establishment and appreciated its efforts to facilitate Hujjaj from South Asian region.

Sardar Muhammad Yousaf also lauded the role of Radio Pakistan for giving excellent coverage to the Hajj proceedings.

                             

CM-EID:

Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has congratulated the relevant institutions for the better sanitation and cleanliness arrangements of the first day of Eid in the Punjab.

He also expressed satisfaction over the arrangement of solid waste management company and directed the authorities to work hard for next two days of Eid-ul-Azha.

He said that he is personally supervising the cleaning arrangements.    

Meanwhile, talking to people from different walks of life in Lahore, Chief Minister said government is committed to serve the masses with transparency and trust.

Shahbaz Sharif said people have rejected negative elements who are busy in politics chaos blame and lies .

Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain has left for South Africa to attend Africa Aerospace Exhibition 2016.

The Minister was invited by Ministry of Defence, South-Africa.

 

SAUDI KING:

Saudi King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz has urged to eradicate extremism with the unity of Muslims.   

Addressing a ceremony in Mina, he said extremism is a detestable tendency as per Shariah and when it afflicts the Muslim Ummah it spoils its cohesion, future and image before the world.

 

UKRAINE

Ukraine rebels has announced to hold unilateral ceasefire for the first time since the separatist movement erupted two years ago.

Ukraine's separatist leader Alexander Zakharchenko ordered his forces to hold their fire, and urged Kiev to do the same.

More than nine thousand five hundred people have been killed since the rebels launched their armed separatist movement.
