The Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai has urged world leaders not to waste time and act to guarantee schooling for refugee children .

In a statement, she urged the world leaders gathered for the first-ever UN summit on refugees in New York, to ensure provision of access to twelve years schooling to every refugee child.

She urged the leaders to reject short-term solutions to the refugee crisis now affecting twenty-one point three million people, including nearly four million children across the world.
