Three hundred megawatt electricity has been added to the national grid after the completion of second phase of the Quaid-i-Azam Solar Park near Bahawalpur. An official of the Solar Park said execution of third phase would be undertaken soon which will add six hundred Megawatt power to the grid.He told Quaid-i-Azam Solar Park’s total capacity was planned to be one thousand megawatt in 2014 and its first phase of one hundred megawatt was completed and commissioned last year.He said the Punjab government acquired a total of ten thousand acre from the Cholistan Development Authority, Bahawalpur for the solar park.

Pakistan in collaboration with China will establish state-of-the-art technical and vocational institutes along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor route. According to National Vocational and Technical Training Commission sources, these institutes will be established at Gilgit, Mansehra, D.I.Khan, Abbottabad, Quetta and Gwadar. The sources said CPEC would open new vistas of development and prosperity and offer enormous employment opportunities for the people of Pakistan. Keeping this in view, the Commission as an advisory body to the federal government has taken vital initiatives to introduce reforms in the current technical and vocational system of the country. The sources said the skilled youth is the most powerful tool for poverty alleviation and can play an important role in the socio-economic development of the country.

Government is working hard to achieve up to seven percent growth rate for real turnaround of economy: Dar

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar says fiscal, monetary and economic reforms have paved the way for economic turnaround of the country. Addressing at the Foundation of Strategic Research in Paris, he said theses reforms led to the improvement of all economic fiscal and monetary indicators which are recognized and appreciated by credible intentional rating agencies. The Minister said the World Rating Agencies have included Pakistan in the top ten emerging economies. Pakistan's strategic location makes it an attractive destination for foreign investment. China Pakistan Economic Corridor has opened up vast opportunities of investment in different fields including energy and infrastructure.
