Work in full swing on Thar coal project block-II to generate 600MW electricity: Engro Chief
Says forty metres drilling had been completed while remaining 110 metres work would soon be completed.
Chief Executive Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company Shamsuddin Shaikh has said that Thar coal is a mega project, which would resolve longstanding energy crisis of the country by generating thousands of megawatt electricity.
Addressing a press conference at Mithi, Shamsuddin Shaikh said people of Tharpakar are lucky enough to have 175 billion ton of coal reserves.
He said in block II coal reserves were into the depth of 150 metres, drilling work is in progress, and forty metres drilling had been completed while remaining 110 metres work would soon be completed.
He said that project of worth 210 billion dollar on Thar coal block 2 would be completed in next three years, which would generate 600-megawatt (MW) electricity.
