Refunds of 21.5 billion rupees have repaid out of twenty five billion rupees
The Finance Minister Ishaq Dar was addressing a ceremony in connection with tax revenue in Federal Board of Revenue Islamabad today.
Ishaq Dar said that the promise in the federal budget on refunding Sales Tax unto 30th of April this year has been fulfilled. The Minister said that concrete steps will be taken for the improvement in governance and transparent system. He said that Companies Ordinance 2016 was a major step in the development of the country.
A number of legal reforms have been introduced in last 2 years
Chairman Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) Zafar Hijazi on Sunday called on Minister for Finance Mohammad Ishaq Dar. A statement issued by the SECP said the Chairman expressed gratitude and thanks for the guidance and support extended by the minister during the whole process and early promulgation of the Companies Ordinance, 2016 and other legislative reforms in capital markets and corporate sector in the country. The minister while appreciating the efforts of SECP, said that a number of legal reforms have been introduced in last two years which include Securities Act 2015, Futures Market Act 2016, SECP Amendment Act 2016, Corporate Restructuring Companies Act 2016 and the Companies Ordinance 2016.
Backward and Neglected areas have been given priority for the first time in CPEC
Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal says backward and neglected areas have been given priority for the first time in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to bring them at par with other developed areas. In an interview, he said the government is committed to complete China-Pakistan Economic Corridor by 2030 at every cost. He said CPEC is a project of national importance and all forces in the country should express solidarity instead of political point scoring by making the project controversial.
