CPEC is an economic undertaking open to all countries in the region having no geographical boundaries: PM

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif says peace and development are interlinked and achieving economic development through regional cooperation is the only way to ensure peace and security. He was addressing the plenary session of the One Belt One Road Forum in Beijing on Sunday. The Forum provides pathways for economic and financial cooperation, business-to-business collaboration, and people-to-people contacts. One Belt-One Road is an inter-continental mega-project offering unprecedented opportunities and partnerships in energy, trade, infrastructure, telecommunications, investment and industrial development. CPEC is a project owned and nurtured by all citizens of Pakistan and is also fully compatible with our own Vision 2025.

China Pakistan Economic Corridor is not only in national interest of Pakistan but will also benefit all other countries in the region. India must also join this game changer project as it is in its national and economic interest. The ongoing Belt and Road summit will definitely strengthen economic and defense relations of China and Pakistan. So it is definitely a win-win situation for Pakistan.

Pakistan urges United Nations to take notice of Indian attempts to bring demographic changes to occupied Kashmir.

In a letter to the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, the Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has specifically pointed out the issuance of permanent residence certificates to non-residents, allotment of land to retired Indian army personnel and issuance of land to non-Kashmiris in the occupied territory. Sartaj Aziz also mentioned the establishment of separate townships for Kashmiri pundits and settlement of West Pakistan refugees to convert Muslim majority of the valley into a minority and preempt the results of UN administered plebiscite. The Adviser said non-implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions is leading to a grave human tragedy in occupied Kashmir.

This is a very serious issue and I am pleased that the Adviser to PM on Foreign Affairs has once again highlighted the kashmir issue at UN forum. Pakistan should be firm on its stance to provide moral and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir. The world should also take notice of demographic changes in Kashmir brought by India.
