Govt planning to connect remote areas of KP, FATA through motorways, highways
Work on Peshawar Northern Bypass project is in full swing.
The Federal government is planning to connect the inaccessible and remote areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata through state of the art motorways, highways and roads network.
Official sources told APP that National Highway Authority as per directions of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expedited efforts to complete work on Lowari tunnel, Peshawar Northern Bypass and Hazara Motorway.
The 26-billion rupee Lowari Tunnel has entered the last stage of its completion and the prime minister is expected to inaugurate it next month.
Work on Peshawar Northern Bypass project is in full swing that would be completed by December this year at a cost of twenty-one billion rupees.
The construction of six lane Hazara Motorway is continuing on fast track basis and more than sixty percent work on it has been completed and efforts are underway to make it fully operational by December this year. The project will be completed at a cost of over twenty-two billion rupees.
These projects upon completion will help attract massive foreign investment, generate employment opportunities and promote trade and industrialization in the region.
