TDPsâ€™ return to begin from March 16
In first phase, 2,500 families will return to their homes.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan has announced return of Temporarily Displaced People (TDPs) of FATA from Monday, the 16th of March.
He was addressing a press conference along with Corps Commander Peshawar Lt. Gen. Hidayat-ur Rehman at Governor’s House in Peshawar this evening.
The Governor said in first phase, 2,500 families of Tehsil Sararogha and Sarwakai of South Waziristan Agency will return to their homes and this process will start from 16th of this month.
He added that return of 20 thousands families of Akka Khel area of Tehsil Bara of Khyber Agency will start from 20th of March whereas return of 18 thousands families of Tehsil Mir Ali of North Waziristan Agency will commence from March 31.
Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan said the entire process of TDPs return and rehabilitation requires a sum of 80 billion rupees.
He also lauded the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan Armed Forces in war against terrorism and restoration of peace in tribal areas.
