KP budget with total outlay of Rs 505b announced
Provincial Finance Minister says Rs 125 billion have been allocated for Annual Development Programme.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa budget for the next fiscal year with total outlay of 505 billion rupees was announced on Tuesday evening.
Presenting the budget in the Provincial Assembly, Finance Minister Muzaffar Said Advocate said one hundred and twenty five billion rupees have been allocated for Annual Development Programme. Over one thousand five hundred development projects will be completed in fiscal year 2016-17.
He said about thirty three billion rupees have been earmarked for improvement of law and order situation and eliminating the menace of terrorism.
The Finance Minister said thirty-eight billion rupees will be spent on improvement of health services which is about 28 percent more than the outgoing fiscal year.
About fifteen thousand Lady Health Workers and Vaccinators will be recruited in the next financial year.
Muzaffar Said Advocate said one hundred eleven billion rupees have been allocated for the promotion of education.
One point six billion rupees will be spent on social welfare and women development.
He said eight billion rupees will be spent on the promotion of agriculture and two billion rupees on industrial development.
The ratio of several taxes including registration fee of vehicles has been enhanced.
Earlier, the provincial cabinet in its meeting in Peshawar approved the budgetary proposals for the new fiscal year.
