US asks Pakistan, India to reduce tension

A spokesman of the US State Department told a news briefing in Washington that it was in the interest of the two countries to address the threat of extremism and terrorism.
He said that the US would encourage the two countries to take steps for reducing their differences. He said that good relationship between Pakistan and India is essential for peace and stability in South Asia.
