‘Civil, military leadership on same page to eradicate terrorism’
Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif says operation Zarb-e-Azb launched to weed out terrorism has now entered its final phases.
Speaking in Radio Pakistan’s program Minister SAFRON Lt. Gen (Retd.) Abdul Qadir Baloch said: “A noticeable reduction in terrorist activities in the country has been observed after the successful operation Zarb-e-Azb. Civil and military leadership are on same page to eradicate terrorism from the country. Our Jawans have sacrificed their lives in war against terrorism for the better future of country’s new generation. Nation has been supporting Pak Army in this war. Now, Operation Zarb-e-Azb is in its last phase and soon we will see a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan. Zimbabwe’s cricket team tour to Pakistan proves that terrorism has almost finished in the country.”
Defense Analyst Brig. (Retd) Farooq Hameed said:“Almost 90-95% area has been cleared from militants as a result of successful Operation Zarb-e-Azb. Explosive factories there have been destroyed by armed forces. We have not witnessed any terrorist activity in these areas so far. Operation Zarb-e-Azb is in its last stages and government with the support of armed forces has initiated the rehabilitation of the TDPs. Government has been providing all available facilities to TDPs in the process of rehabilitation. Government has also been negotiating with Afghan government to hand over Mulla Fazalullah to Pakistan. New Afghan government has been supporting Pakistan in war against terrorism, so that Pak-Afghan security forces jointly could eliminate the terrorism from the region.”
Senior analyst Ikram Sehgal said: “Gen. Raheel Sharif’s response to Indian statements against Pakistan was vital for integrity of the country. COAS has clearly stated that we are ready to pay any price to protect our nationhood, and safeguard interests, be it in Kashmir, development of new ports, exploitation of natural resources. India should have no concern on China Pakistan Economic Corridor project because it is not against any particular country. It is only for economic improvement of the region. The nation is supporting Pak Army and the government to respond to any Indian aggression in effective way. Pak Army has managed to overcome terrorism with limited resources. Our forces have done which NATO and US forces could not even dream of. United States has been unable to defeat terrorism and wants to pressurize Pakistan by demanding DO MORE in war against terrorism.”
Analyst Dr. Manzoor Khan Afridi said:* “India has always tried to destabilize Pakistan by all means and now trying to sabotage China Pakistan Economic Corridor project, so that Pakistan’s economy deteriorates. Pak Army has been providing security to this mega project. So, it will not be possible for India to create hurdles in CPEC. India does not have any right to create hurdles in improving the economy of Pakistan. India will never succeed in its efforts to harm Pakistan’s development projects. International community should take notice of Modi’s statements on Pakistan. Modi has confessed his country’s involvement in 1971 incident. Pakistan has strong evidence of India’s involvement in terrorist activities in Pakistan. United States has asked Pakistan and India to reduce tension in the region and move for talks to resolve their issues because good Indo-Pak relations are vital for peace and stability in the region.”
Chairman, Board of Investment Dr. Miftah Ismail said: “The Wall Street Journal is a renowned American newspaper. Many other international organizations have also appreciated the prudent economic policies of PML-N government. Government with its supreme efforts has managed to stabilize the economy. A continuous increase in foreign reserves has been observed. The government had tried to negotiate with Taliban in the start but Taliban refused to reciprocate and then Operation Zarb-e-Azb was launched against militants. Now, successful operation Zarb-e-Azb is in its last stages. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been working on an agenda to develop Pakistan. PML-N government has shown consistency in efforts to improve the economy of the country.”
