Opposition parties have extended their support to democratic system in the country.

Talking to reporters after chairing a meeting of parliamentary leaders of opposition in Islamabad on Friday, Leader of the Opposition Khursheed Shah said elections should be held on time.

He said the opposition wants to resolve all issues amicably as it is in the bet national interest. He said the opposition does not favour politics of agitation in the country.

PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that our fight is not against democratic system.

Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Siraj-ul Haq said we want accountability for all, as no one above the law.   

Awami Muslim League Chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said the opposition wants to preserve democracy in the country.

MQM-Pakistan leader Farooq Sattar also reiterated the opposition's decision to support democracy.
