Nisar voices concern over US Congressmen’s remarks about Islamabad's counter-terrorism role
Pakistan has expressed serious reservations over remarks of some US Congress members and officials regarding Islamabad's role in the war against terrorism.
The reservation was expressed by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan while talking to US Ambassador David Hale in Islamabad on Thursday.
The Minister said Pakistan and Pakistanis have sacrificed a lot in the war against terrorism, but the US parliamentarians have no realization about it. This has created severe reaction inside Pakistan.
The Interior Minister said unnecessary objections and allegations against sincere efforts of Pakistan for durable peace in the region can create problems in the path of achieving the common goals.
Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan said the successes gained in the war against terrorism reflect Pakistan's sincere efforts for safe future of the region.
The US Ambassador said the US government recognizes the efforts of Pakistan for peace in the region and successes of Pakistan in the war against terrorism, particularly the operation Zarb-e-Azb.
