British Kashmiris stage peaceful demonstration outside Indian High Commission
British Kashmiris staged a peaceful demonstration outside the Indian High Commission in London to mark the Kashmir Martyr's Day and to register their protest against the killing of peaceful protesters by Indian troops in occupied territory.
The participants came from different towns and cities of the UK were carried placards reading "Stop killings in Kashmir", "UN unfold your preventive diplomacy", "Stop state terrorism in Kashmir" and "Implement UN resolutions in Kashmir".
The protesters raised forceful slogans against India and in favour of Kashmiris freedom from Indian illegal occupation.
Addressing the protesters, Chief Patron of Kashmir Concern Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl said that the world needed to acknowledge the seriousness of the situation in occupied Kashmir in which 36 innocent precious lives had been lost.
He said, more than hundred people had lost their eyesight and over 1500 people were critically wounded due to the firing of Indian forces on peaceful protesters.
He appealed to the international community to break its silence over the brutalities of Indian troops in the occupied territory.
