The International Federation of Journalists has strongly condemned the attacks and restrictions on media reporting in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

This was said in a resolution adopted at a meeting of the International Federation of Journalists held in Kathmandu, Nepal. IFJ has also expressed solidarity with the journalists in the conflict-ridden territory.

In occupied Kashmir, independent member of so-called Kashmir Assembly, Engineer Abdul Rasheed locked down the DC Office Kupwara, despite heavy barriers and deployment of police and paramilitary forces.

A large number of people gathered at the spot and joined the move by chanting slogans against the administration.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir People's Movement and Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League have urged the international community to help bring an end to the gross human rights violations being perpetrated by the Indian armed forces in the territory.
