1,500 megawatts added to national grid: Rashid
Information Minister says people have rejected the politics of violence and anarchy.
Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has said that 1,500 megawatts of electricity has been added to the national grid to overcome energy crisis in the country.
Speaking in Nuqta-e-Nazar program of Radio Pakistan, he said government has reduced petroleum and electricity prices to facilitate common man.
He expressed the hope that prices of electricity and other commodities would be brought down further next month.
The Minister said that PML-N government took these measures to reduce poverty and revive national economy.
He said national economy is heading in the right direction due to better economic policies of the government.
To a question, he said the politics of sit-ins has badly affected the national economy.
The Information Minister said the government has decided to resume the dialogue process with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf with full sincerity.
He said protest rally of PTI in Lahore would fail like Karachi and Faisalabad. He said people have rejected the politics of violence and anarchy.
PML-N leader Romina Khurshid said the government has demonstrated utmost patience against immature politics of PTI.
She welcomed the resumption of dialogue process between the government and PTI. She urged PTI to abandon politics of violence and exercise mature politics.
