In Occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities sealed Badgam today by deploying Indian troops and police personnel in strength to prevent people from converging in the town.

The joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik had called for a march towards Badgam today to pay tributes to the martyrs.

Eight civilians were killed in Badgam and Ganderbal districts in the indiscriminate firing of Indian police and troops on demonstrations against the polling for the so-called Indian Parliamentary elections on Sunday last.

Despite heavy deployment of occupational forces people staged massive anti-India demonstrations in Badgam.

They raised high-pitched anti-India and pro-freedom slogans.

Indian troops and police subjected protesters to brute force in Srinagar and Sopore areas triggering severe clashes between the demonstrators and the forces’ personnel.

On the other hand, Hurriyet leaders in their statements in Srinagar termed the exemplary boycott of the re-polling in Central Kashmir as people’s referendum against the Indian occupation.
