President Mamnoon Hussain has reiterated government's commitment for promotion of quality education at all levels.

He was talking to a group of Vice-Chancellors and Rectors of the leading universities of the country in Islamabad today (Monday).

He said education sector is not merely a matter of priority for the government but is treated as a national emergency with focus on developing an educational system.

The President said the country needs skilled, highly educated and motivated youth to compete in the present global environment. He said well-educated and fully trained youth could turn around all of our challenges into opportunities.

The President urged the need for the universities and educational institutions to maintain the spirit of excellence and generate new avenues of sustainable growth.

The President called upon the vice chancellors of the universities to further focus on promoting excellence in learning and research.

He laid great emphasis on women education and urged the need for more concerted efforts to equip the women with the steel armor of knowledge and relevant skills.

The President assured all possible support and patronage to the heads of the universities in the promotion of education in Pakistan.
