In India, protests against an anti-Muslims legislation in Assam, have spread to other parts of the country, including Kolkata, Kerala and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state of Gujarat.

Opponents say the law is discriminatory and violates India's Constitution.

Meanwhile, the US Commission on International Religious Freedom, has urged US government to take effective action against India over the passage of the controversial citizenship bill from the parliament.
