Senate Standing Committee on Science and Technology met in Islamabad today with Senator Mushtaq Ahmed in the chair.
The committee directed Higher Education Commission to resolve problems faced by B-Tech graduates and formulate a clear policy in consultation with all those involved.
The committee also hailed the successful safeguard of the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity in the recent tensions with India.
It appreciated and paid tribute to the experts and scientists who have given this country the nuclear and missile technology.
During the meeting, the Ministry of Science and Technology demanded budgetary allocation of 3.6 billion rupees in financial year 2019-20 for execution of its 49 Public Sector Development Projects.
The Ministry of Planning has given an indication to provide 3.07 billion rupees for 33 projects. This allocation is almost double than the previous year's allocation which was 1.48 billion rupees.
