The United States has called on the UN Security Council to hold Myanmar's military accountable for ethnic cleansing of Rohingya Muslims.
Speaking at the Security Council, US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley also stressed the need to pressure Myanmar's leader Aung San Suu Kyi to acknowledge the horrific acts that are taking place in her country.
She said authorities in Myanmar are preventing access to Rakhine state to anyone or any organization that might bear witness to their atrocities.
French U.N. Ambassador Francois Delattre told the Security council that a massacre of Rohingya Muslims reported by Reuters can constitute crimes against humanity.
