In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League has strongly condemned the continued illegal detention of party chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza and termed it sheer political vendetta.

A spokesman of the group in a statement in Srinagar said that the Indian oppressive measures cannot deter the people of Kashmir from demanding their right to self-determination in accordance with the UN resolutions.

He said India cannot silence the voices of Kashmiri people through the use of brute force.
