Topic: Ceasefire violations by Indian forces on LoC, Working Boundary putting regional peace into jeopardy and may lead to strategic miscalculation
Pakistan has expressed grave concerns over growing incidents of firing and shelling by Indian forces on the Line of Control and Working Boundary targeting civilian population. Briefing Heads of Missions of the Permanent Members of the UN Security Council in Islamabad on Thursday, Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua said these violations have resulted in martyrdom of 45 civilians and 155 injuries, including women and children this year. Director General Military Operations, on the occasion, made a comprehensive presentation on the current situation at the LoC and the Working Boundary. The Heads of Mission of China, France, Russian Federation, UK and USA assured that they would convey Pakistan's concern to their respective capitals.
Analysts on telephone:
Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Raza Muhammad Khan (Defense Analyst): “Briefing of five permanent members on Indian ceasefire violations will help spread the message that India has been diverting the attention of world community from human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir. Kashmiris have an inalienable right to freedom and India cannot suppress the indigenous struggle of local population. India has committed worst atrocities on innocent Kashmiris and subjected them to harsh and brutal treatment. Many people have lost their eye sight due to pallet guns used by Indian soldiers on ordinary people. International community should take notice of this situation and put pressure on Indian to desist it from targeting innocent Kashmiris.”
