NATO Chief Jens Stoltenberg has said that a military intervention against North Korea would have devastating consequences.

He said this in an interview at NATO HQ in Brussels on Friday.

He said the US has the right to defend itself, to defend its allies, but at same time no one wants a military solution, so we still see a united effort to try to step up the pressure against North Korea.

Stoltenberg said that Trump met his national security team  and discussed a range of options to respond to Pyongyang's repeated recent nuclear and ballistic missile tests.
