XI-NAWAZ

Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed the resolve to further cement ties with Pakistan by enhancing cooperation in multiple spheres.

He was talking to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who along with his delegation comprising the four chief ministers held talks with him in Beijing today.

The Chinese President expressed satisfaction over the pace of growing bilateral ties.

President Xi said that the two countries had more potential to strengthen bilateral cooperation regarding implementation of CPEC and other regional connectivity projects.

In his remarks, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan stands with China for promotion of Chinese initiative of One Belt and One Road.

Nawaz Sharif said CPEC is a core component of the visionary initiative of the One belt-One Road.  

ADD XI-NAWAZ

The Prime Minister said his government is making strenous efforts for speedy implementation of CPEC Projects and has already made good progress in execution of energy and infrastructure projects.

Nawaz Sharif congratulated President Xi on the holding of the Belt and Road Forum saying the participation of a large number of world leaders in Chinese capital was a testimony of China's growing stature in the international community.

AGREEMENTS

Pakistan and China signed a series of agreements in Beijing today for cooperation in different sectors.

The first MOU related to cooperation within the framework of  Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st century Maritime Silk Road initiative.

An MOU was also signed on upgradation of main railway line track ML-I and establishment of Haveilian Dry Port.

Three agreements were pertaining to economic and technical cooperation worth 3.4 billion yuan for Gwadar port and East Bay expressway.

The signing ceremony was also witnessed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the Chinese premier Li Keqiang.    

PM-TURKEY

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a meeting in Beijing today and discussed matters pertaining to bilateral relations.

In his remarks, the Prime Minister said Pakistan and Turkey enjoy time tested relations and people of both the countries have stood by each other in hour of trial.     

SHAHBAZ

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif says the Prime Minister will inaugurate 1320 MW Sahiwal Coal Power Plant this month.

Talking to newsmen in Beijing, today, he said the power plant has been completed in a record time.

FATA

A special campaign in underway in FATA for enrollment of students to enhance literacy rate in the area.   

Official sources told our Peshawar correspondent, that two hundred thousand children will be admitted in schools during the campaign.

They will also be provided free books from primary to Matric. 

The government has setup FATA Endowment Fund for provision of scholarships to intelligent students of the tribal areas.

The government has setup a university, cadet colleges and Model Schools in the tribal belt.    

TRAIN-ACCIDENT

Two cargo trains collided near Bolhari Railway Station in Jamshoro district today killing a driver and injuring a fireman.

Six bogies carrying crude oil derailed after the accident.

A spokesman of Pakistan railways told our Karachi correspondent that a relief train from Kotri has reached the spot and railway staff are clearing and repairing the damaged part of the track.               

ERDOGAN

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says he would demand the extradition of Fetullah Gullen, during his upcoming meeting with the U.S. president Donald Trump.

Talking to newsmen in Ankara ahead of visits to China and the U.S, Erdogan said Turkey has documentary proof  about Gullen's involvement in an abortive coup in the country .

He said the United States should not be an incubation center for Fetullah Gullen terrorist organization.

Erdogan also talked about the issue of the U.S. arming the Syrian Democratic Forces, considered by Turkey as an affiliate of the PKK terrorist organization.

GAMES

The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games have opened in Baku.

Speaking on the occasion, Azerbaijani Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva said the Games will promote harmony and brotherhood in the youth of Islamic world.   

In his address the OIC Secretary General Dr. Yousef

Al-Othaimeen said the games will  help promote of sports in the OIC countries.
