In Sindh, a project costing over twelve billion rupees is being executed to provide one hundred cusecs of water to coal power generation unit in Thar area.

Our Karachi correspondent Altaf Pirzado reports that under the project water will be carried from Left Bank Outfall Drain (LBOD) to Nabisar for onward supply to power generation unit at Thar Coal block-II.

The project is expected to be completed next month and with the provision of water, the power plant installed in collaboration with Sindh Government and Chinese entrepreneurs will  start generating twelve hundred megawatt of electricity by the end of this year.
