UK, France agree to make joint efforts for eliminating online terrorism, extremism
The United Kingdom and France have agreed to take joint measures to eliminate online terrorism and extremism.
This was stated by UK Prime Minister Theresa May ahead of her scheduled visit to Italy to meet French President Emmanuel Macron in Taormina later on Tuesday.
She said the joint campaign would aim at ensuring that internet cannot be used as a safe space for terrorists and criminals.
Under the campaign, tech companies such as Facebook and Google would be fined, if they do not step up efforts to combat online radicalization.
