Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal says completion of infrastructure projects under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will open new avenues for development in Pakistan as well as the whole region.    

He was chairing a meeting in Islamabad, to review progress on the projects being completed under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.   

Expressing satisfaction over the CPEC projects, the Minister said several projects are expected to be completed this year.

The Minister directed to speed up work on Gwadar International Airport and other projects in the city. He said with completion of Gwadar Master Plan, the city will emerge as a modern urban centre.

He said every effort will be made to ensure security and safety of Chinese citizens working in Pakistan.
