The captain of the national cricket team, Misbah-ul-Haq has announced to retire from one-day and T-20 cricket after the world cup.

He stated this while talking to the media persons at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore today.

He said that the team is going to play world cup with a positive thinking and it will make all-out endevours to win the cup.

He said that he would strive hard to produce best result in the world cup so as to materialize the dream of becoming world champion of cricket .

The skipper said that he has been in search of an appropriate time since long for announcing his retirement. He paid thanks to the Pakistan Cricket Board for extending cooperation to him.

Talking to the press on the occasion, the Chairman of the Board Shaharyar Khan said that Misbah-ul-Haq has taken a decision of his own and the PCB respects it. 

Applauding the performance of Misbah-ul-Haq, he said that the board will keep utilizing his expertise and technique even after his retirement.  He said that the players like Misbah-ul-Haq are scarce.

The manager of the team Naveed Akram Cheema said that the national cricket team is in good form and it is capable to defeat any team of the world.
