Govt taking concrete steps to end energy crisis: CM Punjab
Shahbaz Sharif says sites have been selected for coal based electricity generation projects.
A meeting was held in Lahore on Saturday with Punjab Chief Minster Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in the chair to review the progress on coal-based power projects.
The meeting discussed arrangements for transportation of imported coal from the Port to the coal run power projects.
Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique attended the meeting on special invitation.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said the PML-N government is taking serious and speedy measures to overcome the power crisis.
He said coal run power projects are being set up at Sahiwal, Rahim Yar Khan and Muzaffargarh.
Shahbaz Sharif said sites have also been selected to set up small coal power projects in various parts of the province to general cheaper electricity.
Railways Minister assured the meeting that the newly set up Freight Transport Company of the Department will deliver coal to all the projects well in time.
