Nation to celebrate 70th Independence Anniversary with a renewed pledge to make Pakistan a truly Islamic welfare state
The day will dawn with thirty-one gun salute in the federal and twenty-one gun salute in the provincial capitals. President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Chinese Vice Premier will attend the flag hoisting ceremony to mark the Independence Day at the Parliament House. The President will also address this nation on this occasion. Special Azadi Train is continuing its country-wide journey in connection with Independence Day celebrations.
Army Chief reiterates firm resolve to continue the war against terrorism till durable peace and stability is restored in the country
According to ISPR, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Governor and Chief Minister Balochistan, Interior Minister and Commander Southern Command attended the funeral of Army personnel martyred in a suicide bomb blast in Quetta. The Army Chief also visited CMH hospital Quetta and inquired after the health of injured. Speaking on the occasion, General Qamar Javed Bajwa stresses the need for coordinated efforts among all state institutions to completely root out the menace of terrorism. Our martyrs have scarified their lives for peaceful and prosperous Pakistan.
Interior Minister assures full cooperation of the federal government to the provinces for ensuring peace and security
Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal stresses the need to further strengthen unity among all ranks of the nation to completely efface the menace of terrorism. Talking to news persons in Quetta, he says significant achievements have been made in war against terrorism and remnants of terrorists are on the run. The Minister urges the need for showing complete solidarity and unity to fight the war against terrorism and called upon the opposition parties to join hands to defeat the enemies of the Pakistan. Condemning the terrorist attack in Quetta, he says the country is successfully stepping ahead with strong agenda to defeat the menace of terrorism. Earlier, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal along with Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri visited the CMH Quetta and inquired after the health of injured people of Quetta blast.
