Shahbaz approves construction of additional classrooms in schools
Additional classrooms would be constructed at a cost of Rs15bn.
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has given approval for the construction of additional classrooms in the schools throughout Punjab under "Khadim-e-Punjab Schools Program".
Chairing a high-level meeting in Lahore on Saturday, he said that thousands of additional classrooms would be constructed in the schools of the province at a cost of fifteen billion rupees.
He said that the government has implemented a major program of promoting education in the province and providing necessary facilities in educational institutions.
The Chief Minister said that additional classrooms would be constructed in the sixteen districts of the Southern Punjab on priority basis.
He directed that the new classrooms should be the best in terms of quality and built by using advanced technology. He said that a steering committee has already been formed for this purpose, which will monitor the progress on this project.
