Baligh-ur-Rehman (Minister of State for Interior and Narcotics Control):

“Tomorrow is an important day for the people of Pakistan. The Independence Day will be celebrated with enthusiasm. President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif will attend the Flag Hosting ceremony. But some elements want to create anarchy on this special day. Independence is a gift of God. We should be thankful to God that Pakistan is an independent state. All the political parties and the nation should be united to celebrate this day with traditional zeal. We must keep in mind that our ancestors have worked hard and sacrificed their lives for this country. It is a blessing of Allah Almighty that we are living in an independent country.”

Dr. Muhammad Khan (Defense Analyst):

“The President of Pakistan to grant the Military awards to the officers and men of the security forces on the occasion of Independence Day. Martyrs never die. Major Ali Jawad was martyred at Torkham border. He sacrificed his life while fighting with Afghan forces with bravery and sacrificed his life for the prosperity of the country. Such awards also motivate the others to fight for the country. The improved situation of peace in the country is the result of efforts and sacrifices of Jawans of our security forces. Pakistan is fighting a successful war against terrorism. NATO forces remained unsuccessful in Afghanistan but the security forces of our country have defeated terrorism without the support of anyother country.”
