Developmental projects initiated by government will usher in new era of progress and prosperity in the country: PM

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif performed the groundbreaking of Shorkot-Khanewal Section of M-4 today. Addressing a ceremony says government is pursuing such policies that ensure sustainable development of the country. “A network of highways and motorways is being constructed in the country. Over the last one and a half years, road infrastructure projects worth 850 billion rupees have been launched which will help both the farmers and the industrialists to take their produce to the international markets. Country's economy is progressing due to  government's successful economic policies. A state of the art Gwadar port and an airport are being constructed to make Gwadar an international city. The menace of load shedding will be eliminated by 2018 and work on power plants launched in cooperation with China is in full swing.

The project will be completed at a cost of around twenty-two billion rupees in two years. After completion, the project will improve the country’s vital north-south road network and promote economic growth, create jobs and ensure regional connectivity. Motorway M-4 Faisalabad-Multan 240 kilometers is divided into four sections. Faisalabad-Gojra and Khanewal-Multan sections have already been completed, while work is underway on Gojra-Shorkot section. Work on the fourth section of Shorkot-Khanewal will begin today. Shorkot-Khanewal section is divided into two packages including Shorkot-Dinpur (31 kms) and Dinpur-Khanewal (34 kms), in order to ensure its in-time completion

The M-4 is also a step towards positioning Pakistan to act as a transit artery for goods moving between the port city of Karachi and Gwadar in the south to Torkham on the northern border with Afghanistan.

Country steers towards progress and prosperity: Irfan

Adviser to the Prime Minister for National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui says Pakistan is much developed today than it was in 2013. Addressing a ceremony in Lahore today in connection with Independence Day, he said Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah united the whole nation under one flag and one slogan of Pakistan. Irfan Siddiqui said every Pakistani is of the opinion that the country is steering towards progress and prosperity.

China Pakistan Economic Corridor project is a gift for Pakistan: Ahsan

He was addressing a seminar titled Pakistan`s journey to greatness in connection with Independence Day Celebrations organized by News and Current Affairs Channel of Radio Pakistan at National Broadcasting House in Islamabad. He said China Pakistan Economic Corridor project is a gift for Pakistan, which will attract more investment from abroad. He once again assured that the multi-billion dollar project will serve all the federating units of the country. Ahsan Iqbal said political stability and continuity of policies is a pre requisite for development.

“Better road infrastructure plays a vital role in development of the country. Certain development and power projects under CPEC will definitely stabilize the economy of our country. China is making huge investment in different projects in Pakistan and this mega project being a game changer will bring an economic revolution in the country. After the improvement in peace situation, many foreign investors have also been taking keen interest to invest in our country. The incumbent government is making all out efforts to improve economy of the country. All political parties rather than making baseless criticism on the government must support it to stabilize Pakistan.”

Dr. Manzoor Khan Afridi (IR Expert): 

“China is investing $46 billion in development projects in Pakistan through China Pakistan Economic Corridor. Most of this investment is to be utilized in power sector to overcome energy crisis. This corridor will provide an easy access to Pakistan to international markets. The incumbent government has also focused on to improve road infrastructure in the country which is a positive development. Prime Minister performed a groundbreaking of yet another project of Shorkot-Khanewal motorway. The project will improve Pakistan’s vital north-south road network, promote economic growth, create employment opportunities and ensure regional connectivity. Load-shedding will be eliminated till 2018 after the completion of all the under-construction power projects.”
